Summary of new Ordinance
Major Changes instituted 1/11/2021.
1) The city has capped the number of adults that can occupy each rental.
2) The city has added 2 additional code officer positions (4 total) to write tickets
3) Over $600,000 of citations have been written this year compared to $0.00 in previous years.
4) $5000 fines and lifetime bans from the program for illegal rentals
5) $500 fines for too many cars
6) $500 fines for over occupancy and eviction
7) $500 fines for noise that can go up to $1000 with evictions. Also, all homes that receive a complaint must install a $300 noise alert system to prevent future instances.
8) The Code Line is now in house in Big Bear and not in Utah.

All council members have said they will take additional steps if necessary
On the table
- According to Big Bear's city council they are prepared to continue to be aggressive with more restrictions, fines, caps and a moratorium if necessary.
- Having every guests have to get a confirmation number from the city before they can check in at the office.
- Having all short-term rentals use a commercial check in to make sure the city ordinance is signed by all guests.
- Limit the number of Days or Contracts that can be done per year.
